Months Range: 1 to 2 Months

What are Grease Lock® filters made of?

Grease Lock® is a proprietary wool-blend, biodegradable and heat-resistant filter proven to capture grease particulate emissions produced in commercial cooking operations.

Can the Grease Lock® filters fit into an existing hood?

Grease Lock® filters are available in sizes that fit most OEM hoods.

Is airflow affected when using Grease Lock® filters?

Grease Lock® is a proprietary blend of fibers that capture particles with minimal effect on airflow, and no exhaust fan upgrade is needed.

Do Grease Lock® filters help with smoke and odors?

Odors occur due to grease rotting in the ductwork. Grease Lock® captures the vapors in the hood filters before this happens to decrease odors.

When should I install the Grease Lock® Filter System?

The best time to install Grease Lock is right after a scheduled hood cleaning or if your existing filters/ventilation system is visibly dirty or clogged with grease. Starting with a clean exhaust system ensures maximum performance and gives you the full benefit of using the product.

Will I still need to have my kitchen exhaust ducts cleaned regularly?

Cleaning frequency is determined by the amount of grease buildup. Consult with your local Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Professional for more information.

In the event of a fire, what liability impact does this have for the restaurant?

Restaurant owners or other designated facility maintenance or hood filter exchange companies are responsible for maintaining the Grease Lock® system. If an uninspected and grease laden ventilation system results in a fire, the restaurant owner can be financially and legally liable.

How is Grease Lock® different than a traditional baffle filter?

Standard baffle filters capture approximately 25% of airborne grease and particulates and require frequent washing with chemicals and water.

Grease Lock® captures up to 98% of airborne grease and particulates before it enters the hood and ductwork. Grease Lock® significantly reduces buildup in hoods, ducts, and exhaust fans while minimizing the need for frequent cleanings.

Are the metal frames dishwasher safe?

The filters capture up to 98% of airborne grease and particulates.

How much preventative maintenance is required?

For grills, you should clean the metal frames between two and four times per month without the pads installed. For other appliances, a monthly cleaning is sufficient. However, you must wipe down the front covers and hood every night.

What types of establishments are using this product today?

Grease Lock® is suitable for nearly all commercial cooking operations. Food trucks and trailers, independently owned restaurants and nationwide chains all trust Grease Lock® to contain grease particulate emissions before it becomes a problem.
